Silent Gradient is a small independent recording label for music with a pulse, a point of view, and somewhere interesting to go after dark. We keep the roster close and give each record room to sound—and look—like itself.

We choose artists by what reaches our ears, not by what may or may not be happening behind their eyes. Human, machine, spectral presence, or elaborate pseudonym: all personalities are welcome. We do not discriminate against artificial intelligence; we save our judgment for the music.

Independence means doing things deliberately, occasionally stubbornly, and without a conference room full of people asking whether the chorus can be more “content.” Silent Gradient exists to make distinctive recordings public—and to give their makers a credible address in the world.
